The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate billing and coding of medical services, facilitating smooth charge entry, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. Responsibilities
- Review and analyze medical records to ensure accurate coding and billing of services provided.
- Prepare and submit accurate claims to insurance companies and government payers.
- Handle patient billing inquiries and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Maintain and update patient billing information and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure proper documentation for billing and coding purposes.
- Stay updated on industry regulations and coding guidelines to ensure compliance.
Skills and Qualifications
- Proficient in medical coding systems such as ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare billing processes.
- Experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software.
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills to ensure accuracy in coding and billing.
- Excellent communication skills for interaction with patients, providers, and insurance companies.
- Certification in medical billing and coding (e.g., CPC, CCA) is preferred but not required.
