Job Summary:
The Bidding and Estimation professional is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing tender documents, and supporting the bidding process to ensure competitive and profitable project proposals. The role involves coordination with engineering, procurement, and project teams to evaluate costs, risks, and timelines.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze tender documents, drawings, specifications, and BOQs
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors
- Develop and submit competitive bids and tender proposals within deadlines
- Perform quantity take-offs and cost breakdowns
- Request and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations
- Identify project risks, assumptions, and exclusions in bids
- Coordinate with engineering, planning, and procurement teams
- Maintain a database of historical costs and market rates
- Assist in value engineering and cost optimization
- Support contract negotiations and bid clarifications
Required Skills & Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of estimation techniques and costing principles.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficiency in estimation software and MS Excel
- Knowledge of local/international tendering procedures.
- Good communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work under tight deadlines
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 2 to 5 years of experience in bidding and estimation
- Experience in construction, civil, MEP, or relevant industry preferred
