Your tasks

Description:

Bid Engineer is responsible for timely and appropriate price and cost calculations including the recommended target prices and resulting profit margins which are communicated to outside sales, which submits and negotiates the final offer with the customer. The pricing can be customer-specific, project-specific, market-specific, or product-specific - depending on the initial situation.

In addition, the Bid Engineer offers the Product Management support with pricing and cost analysis, and calculations of the respective products, including large data analysis.

Main Tasks & Duties:

  • Identify pricing solutions through cost/benefit analysis of different scenarios or best practices to inform/propose to the cost proposal team through collaboration with program and technical staff at HQ and overseas.
  • Conduct timely and appropriate price and cost calculations, including recommended target prices and resulting profit margins.
  • Collaborate with sales, product management, production and finance teams to align pricing strategies with business objectives.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of pricing strategies and make adjustments as needed.
  • Prepare detailed pricing reports and present findings to stakeholders.
  • Update and maintain the global pricelist on a yearly and quarterly basis.
  • Ensure compliance with pricing policies and regulations
  • Support bid/no-bid decisions and participate in bid reviews to develop competitive pricing strategies.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor pricing, and large datasets to inform pricing decisions.

Your profile

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Economics, Engineering, Finance or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience in pricing, financial analysis, or a similar role.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SAP ERP, Power BI).
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an international team environment.
  • Familiarity with cost calculation and a strong affinity for numbers.
  • Understanding of business relationships in an international sales and production environment.
  • Experience in the field of optical connection technology is an advantage.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.

  • Proactive with the necessary interest and willingness to learn new things.
  • Should be able to work in international, intercultural and cross functional teams.
