Job Purpose
We are seeking a hands-on Bid & Project Engineer to engineer and execute skid-mounted systems and packages for marine, offshore, naval and engineered equipment applications.
The role covers the complete project lifecycle: RFQ, bid engineering, costing, detailed engineering, procurement support, manufacturing, FAT, documentation and delivery.

Bid & Project Engineer – Marine, Offshore & Naval Skid Systems

Key Responsibilities
- Study customer RFQs, specifications, tenders and technical requirements.
- Develop technical solutions, system configurations, preliminary P&IDs and equipment selections.
- Prepare technical proposals, compliance statements, deviations, datasheets, BOMs and utility requirements.
- Support project costing and identify technical risks, scope gaps and exclusions.
- Prepare and review engineering documents, including:
- P&IDs, equipment and valve lists
- Datasheets and specifications
- BOM/MTO and technical purchase requisitions
- Vendor technical evaluations
- Control, instrumentation and interface requirements
- FAT procedures and O&M documentation
- Provide technical inputs and sketches to designers and check drawings for correctness, accessibility, maintainability and manufacturability.
- Engineer packages involving pumps, filters, vessels, heat exchangers, valves, piping, instruments, motors, panels and structural skids.
- Support procurement, fabrication, assembly and shop-floor problem solving.
- Resolve technical issues, non-conformities and manufacturing deviations.
- Lead or support inspections, functional testing and FAT with customers, shipyards, inspectors and classification societies.
- Manage customer comments, technical changes, as-built documentation and project interfaces.
- Support commissioning, troubleshooting and site activities when required.
- Independently make practical engineering decisions and constructively challenge customers, Sales, suppliers and Factory when necessary.
- 8–10 years of experience in engineered skids, package systems or similar equipment.
- Experience in both bid engineering and project execution.
- Strong capability in P&ID development and interpretation.
- Hands-on experience preparing technical engineering documents.
- Knowledge of mechanical equipment, piping, valves, instrumentation and controls.
- Experience with equipment selection and supplier technical evaluations.
- Experience providing design inputs and checking GA, layout, piping and fabrication drawings.
- Practical shop-floor, manufacturing and FAT experience.
- Ability to work independently and resolve technical problems effectively.
- Strong customer communication and technical decision-making skills.
- Willingness to travel domestically and occasionally internationally.
- Marine, offshore, naval, FPSO/FSO or shipyard projects.
- Indian Navy or naval vessel applications.
- Classification societies such as DNV, ABS, Lloyd's Register, Bureau Veritas or IRS.
- Exposure to marine corrosion, vibration, shock, hazardous areas, weight/space constraints and applicable ASME, API, IEC, ISO and marine standards.
