BI Architect

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design and develop enterprise BI architectures, integrating Power BI and cloud-based analytics platforms to drive self-service analytics and data democratization
• Create and optimize Power BI semantic models, including DAX, tabular models, DirectQuery, Composite Models, and Row-Level Security (RLS)
• Architect and implement ETL/ELT pipelines in Databricks, cloud SQL platforms, and lakehouse architectures to ensure reliable BI data sources
• Design and manage enterprise-wide BI frameworks ensuring standardized metrics, business logic, and governed semantic layers across Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Qlik Sense, etc.
• Optimize BI query performance, using indexing, partitioning, caching, and report rendering improvements
• Implement real-time and batch integration strategies from APIs, ERP/CRM systems (SAP, Salesforce, Dynamics 365), cloud storage, and external sources
• Establish and enforce BI governance best practices data cataloging, metadata, access control, data lineage, and compliance
• Lead the development of interactive dashboards, paginated reports, and embedded analytics to drive actionable insights
• Administer Power BI Service: manage workspaces, deployment pipelines, API integrations, and BI automation
• Implement DataOps and CI/CD pipelines for BI using Power BI Deployment Pipelines, Git, and IaC
• Stay up to date with emerging BI technologies, AI/ML trends, and cloud analytics innovations
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure BI adoption, promote self-service, and align on critical metrics
• Provide mentorship and training to BI teams and business users, fostering a data-driven culture

What We Expect of You

• Master's degree with 46 years of experience in Computer Science, IT, or related field OR
• Bachelor's degree with 68 years of experience OR
• Diploma with 1012 years of experience
• Microsoft Certified Power BI Data Analyst Associate certification

Basic Qualifications

• Proven experience in BI architecture, enterprise BI development, and data analytics
• Deep expertise in Power BI, including DAX, Power Query (M), tabular modeling, data visualization, and report optimization
• Hands-on with Databricks, including Apache Spark, Delta Lake, SQL, and PySpark
• Proficient in SQL, Python, or Scala for data engineering and transformation
• Knowledge of enterprise data modeling, including dimensional models, star schemas, and virtualization
• Experience with cloud BI platforms such as Azure Synapse, AWS Redshift, Snowflake, Google BigQuery, or SSAS
• Strong understanding of Power BI Service, Power BI Embedded, Power Automate, and API integrations
• Expertise in BI governance, metadata management, data lineage, and compliance frameworks
• Agile development experience: SAFe, DevOps for BI, and CI/CD BI deployment practices
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with C-level executives, business units, and data teams

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SSAS, AAS, SAP BW, or similar OLAP technologies
• Knowledge of AI-powered BI, NLP, and AutoML within analytics solutions
• Familiarity with multi-cloud BI architectures, federated queries, and tools like Looker, Qlik, Tableau
• Understanding of GraphQL, REST APIs, and data mesh principles
• Exposure to AI/ML pipeline integration within enterprise data ecosystems
