About PSL Strategy
Team is primarily responsible to realign bank-wide business strategy to generate higher quantum of priority sector loans through product innovation, deeper geography penetration and modifying the target segment as per current business environment. Team is actively involved in redefining the customer journeys to have a streamlined and automated process of recognizing PSL loans and ensure smooth flow of information between customer hand-offs.
It also evaluate, explore and on-board partners to increase the PSL asset book using the optimal engagement model to increase the efficiency across system and process. Team is also responsible for proactive management of PSL deficit through inorganic means, namely, portfolio purchases, PSLC purchase etc. Team co-ordinate with F&A to institute the right incentive structure to promote PSL assets, enable business teams to meet their targets.
About the Role
Drive PSL initiatives of the Bank to meet annual and medium-term PSL target through product innovation, process re-engineering, regular business review, PSL trainings etc. The team's role directly affects the P&L of the bank as well as help meet its priority sector compliance norms laid out by RBI
Key Responsibilities
1.Business generation:
.Work with wholesale and retail business / product teams to support in sourcing PSL loans.
.Work on partnerships model with DFIs, NBFC, Fintechs, Agritechs, Corporates to generate PSL assets, especially Micro and Agriculture loans.
.Work on potential government schemes to build agriculture and overall PSL portfolio.
.Structuring PSL deals in line with RBI guidelines.
.Conduct reviews with business verticals on PSL target vs achievement and create new avenues of growth in respective business.
2. Product & Policy Development:
.Formulate policy & processes for origination, credit appraisal, monitoring, tagging, pricing & collection.
.Work with business & risk team to improve policies to enable building of PSL portfolio.
.Collaboration with business teams to finance the micro enterprises and agri value chain participant through structuring innovative financing solutions.
.Design and develop new product offerings based on market intelligence and emerging business trends, roll out and implement the same with detailed product notes & framework including pricing guidelines (CGTSME, Mudra, Stand Up India, etc.)
3Process development & improvement:
.Conceptualize and create/enhance processes aimed at bettering the existing operational control on PSL products with a view to improve client satisfaction, regulatory compliance and protection of bank against operational risk.
.Maintain close liaison with sales, credit compliance and operations teams for process improvement and creating efficient processes.
.Identify process gaps and partner stakeholders in closing the gaps.
.Simplification of processes to make it easy to originate and tag assets as PSL.
.Simplification of credit appraisal process for PSL
.Create product & process manuals for various PSL categories simplification of internal compliance norms to make it easy for business to grow PSL assets.
.Manage end to end turnaround time to facilitate superior customer experience and innovate process change to facilitate the same.
4.Portfolio Management and MIS:
.Develop MIS templates and monitoring mechanisms. Ensure effective internal control systems are implemented to minimize credit, regulatory and other operational losses.
.Publish relevant MIS and share analysis with relevant internal stakeholders / management.
.Monitor PSL achievement of business segments and recommend plan of action.
.Ensure correct classifications & NIL disqualification of PSL assets.
5.Automation and System Enhancement -
.Identify and implement the best available and appropriate technology for all the products/channels.
.Identify system and process gaps with partner stakeholders and guide in solving it.
.Liaise with internal and external stakeholders for development and implementation of STP value chain finance system for PSL.
.Co-ordinate with in-house IT team and external IT vendors to develop the product functionalities required in system.
.Closely track the developments and follow up with the Vendor for the timely delivery of the product functionalities.
.Successfully launch the differentiated system in stipulated time
Qualifications
.CA / MBA from Tier 1 B-Schools
.Between 4-6 years of experience in product / lending / strategy functions
