About the Job

The Benefits Operations Specialist supports the administration of U.S. employee benefit programs, ensuring enrollments, changes, and related issues are handled accurately, efficiently, and on time. This role works closely with insurance carriers and cross-functional teams to support benefits operations, and requires strong organization, proactive follow-through, hands-on technical benefits expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Basic U.S. payroll knowledge is required to support benefits administration, along with strong expertise in Google Sheets/Excel.

Responsibilities

● Process and review benefit enrollments, terminations, and changes.

● Maintain accurate benefit records across internal systems and carrier platforms.

● Work with internal teams to ensure correct benefit setup and payroll deductions.

● Coordinate with insurance carriers to resolve eligibility, enrollment, and client/employee queries.

● Support open enrollment activities.

● Review carrier files, eligibility reports, and benefit data for accuracy.

● Track outstanding issues and follow through to timely resolution.

● Maintain clear documentation and organized task tracking logs.

● Support renewals, implementation tasks, and benefits-related administrative workflows.

● Escalate time-sensitive issues promptly when needed.

● Manage, monitor, and triage internal ticket queues to keep work flowing efficiently across teams.

● Ensure SLAs for acknowledgment and resolution are consistently met.

● Proactively follow up on open tickets to prevent delays and maintain client satisfaction.

● Participate in internal meetings to share feedback, identify workflow improvements, and enhance customer service operations.

Requirements

● Basic knowledge of U.S. payroll to support benefits administration.

● Strong expertise in Google Sheets/Excel.

● Hands-on experience with U.S. employee benefits administration (enrollments, terminations, changes, eligibility).

● Strong organizational skills with proactive follow-through on outstanding issues.

● High attention to detail, particularly when reviewing carrier files and eligibility data.

● Ability to manage multiple priorities and shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

● Strong written communication skills for documentation and cross-functional coordination.

● Comfortable managing ticket queues and meeting SLA commitments.
