About The Role
As a
Benefits Analyst Sr, you will evaluate and administer benefit programs including health and welfare plans. We will count on you to be responsible for the development of operating procedures for processing and controlling benefit programs, managing and administering the benefits system, and maintaining data and preparing reports on benefit usage and cost. Along the way, you will get to:
- Strategic Benefit Administration & Enrollment
- Open Enrollment Leadership: Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of the annual Benefits Open Enrollment cycle, including system configuration, communication strategy, and vendor coordination.
- Lifecycle Management: Oversee employee enrollment, qualified status changes, and life event processing, ensuring all benefit records are approved and updated with 100% accuracy.
- Specialized Claims: Manage high-sensitivity processes including Life Insurance/Death claims and complex disability filings with empathy and precision.
- Leave Management & Workplace Accommodations
- Leave & Disability: Administer the full lifecycle of Leave of Absence (LOA) and disability claims, ensuring adherence to statutory requirements and company policy.
- Managerial Advisory: Act as a consultant to leadership on workplace accommodations; evaluate medical documentation and partner with HR Business Partners (HRBPs) to implement support activities.
- Financial Integrity & Payroll Collaboration
- Payroll Reconciliation: Partner closely with the payroll department to ensure all benefit-related deductions and employer contributions are processed accurately and on time.
- Billing & Audit: Reconcile monthly premium billings from insurance carriers; investigate discrepancies and authorize payments to ensure no lapse in coverage.
- Data Auditing: Conduct routine audits of new hire enrollments and status changes to maintain data integrity between HRIS and carrier systems.
- Employee Experience & Communications
- Advocacy & Resolution: Serve as the primary point of contact for complex teammate inquiries and escalated issues from the HR Service Center, acting as a liaison with insurance carriers to resolve eligibility or claim disputes.
- Orientation & Education: Facilitate new hire orientations and ongoing Benefits 101 sessions to ensure teammates fully understand and value their total rewards package.
- Digital Content Management: Maintain the internal benefits portal and intranet, ensuring Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs) and policy documents are current, accessible, and user-friendly.
- Compliance, Reporting & Market Intelligence
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all benefit programs comply with India federal, state, and local labor laws (e.g., ESI, PF, Gratuity, Maternity Benefit Act).
- Statutory Filings: Prepare and gather data for timely statutory reporting and benefit filings.
- Market Trends: Monitor industry benchmarks and legislative changes; provide data-driven recommendations to management for plan enhancements to maintain a competitive edge in the India talent market.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in Benefits Administration or Total Rewards, specifically within the India corporate landscape.
- Comprehensive knowledge of India statutory benefits, including the Employees Provident Fund (EPF), Gratuity Act, Maternity Benefit Act, and ESI.
- Proven experience managing Group Medical Insurance (GMC) and Group Term Life (GTL) renewals and claims advocacy.
- Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite, with high-level expertise in Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) for data reconciliation and auditing.
- Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms (e.g., Workday, Oracle, or SAP) and benefits enrollment modules.
- Strong attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to perform complex billing reconciliations and maintain a high degree of data accuracy.
- Confident in delivering clear, engaging benefits presentations to diverse audiences, from new hires to senior leadership.
- Demonstrated professional maturity and the ability to handle sensitive, confidential teammate information with absolute discretion.
- Ability to react with appropriate urgency to time-sensitive issues (e.g., urgent medical claims or payroll deadlines) in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- A self-starter who can work independently, solve complex eligibility issues, and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a service-first mindset when navigating teammate inquiries.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage competing priorities, such as balancing daily administration with large-scale projects like Annual Open Enrollment.
- Prior experience working within a global matrixed organization.
