Job Description

About the Role – Benchmarking Analyst:

As a Benchmarking Analyst at T-Systems, you will work in a Global team, based out of Bangalore / Pune in India. In this role, you will be primarily responsible in determining market and reference prices for IT sales projects, IT Services and Portfolio development, understand and provide market price data from internal and external data sources, work with internal stakeholders and external stakeholders across departments in various projects. You will work in a team of Analysts, maintain data sources, support deal teams and advise on results and reference models relevant to the assessment of projects and strategic decisions. Additionally, you will advise the Sales team on Benchmark clauses as a part of contract negotiations, provide support in risk assessment and formulations and support in similar Benchmarking exercises.



Your responsibilities:

  • Support Portfolio Units and International customer-oriented contract Benchmarks with account teams and external benchmark providers
  • Work with the account teams, lead and support internal Cost, Price, KPIs and other performance benchmark projects to evaluate the competitiveness of the organization Portfolio
  • Conduct benchmarking studies spanning cost, price, performance with detailed understanding of various effectiveness and efficiency KPIs as well as different IT database sources, metrics, calculations etc.
  • Advise the deal teams to implement fair customer contract benchmark clauses and to reduce the respective commercial risks for T-Systems
  • Collect, maintain and provide relevant market data relating to our IT-Portfolio and advise sales teams
  • Maintain, based on previous benchmarks and other market sources, our market price data base to advise sales teams with competitive market prices and price-to-win targets
  • Continuous market observation and analysis of price, cost and other performance indicators to provide information to Sales and Portfolio Organization
  • Collaborate with internal and Global sales and portfolio delivery organization to optimize service and cost structure
  • Work closely with various benchmark providers, sourcing advisors and market analysts



Your Background:

  • Successfully completed college/ universities degree preferably with a Technical and / or business background, preferably with experience in sales and pre-sales solution organizations
  • At least 5 years of relevant / practical work experience in customer-oriented projects with a focus on IT outsourcing - preferably in international IT benchmark or sales projects. Overall 8+ years of work experience
  • Proficient in English and excellent communication skills – both verbal and written (proficiency in Germany is an advantage but not a requirement)



Preferred experience and expertise:

  • Have extensive experience with new technology and services
  • Experience with various benchmark studies such as price benchmarks, cost, performance, overhead and KPI benchmarks
  • Practical experience in contract negotiations with customers
  • In-depth experience of IT hard and soft price drivers like contract and service scope and quality, industry specifics, competitors or purchasing power in different market regions
  • General Knowledge in specific technical fields such as applications, cloud architectures, hybrid and multi-cloud environments and their management
  • Comprehensive understanding of various technology partners such as VMware, SAP, Microsoft, Amazon, ServiceNow, GCP
  • Multiple years of experience in developing of value-oriented pricing strategies and pricing models
  • Experience to define competitive IT standard portfolio products
