Job Title

Business Development Manager (BDM) SMB & Government Customers (IT Hardware)

Job Summary

The Business Development Manager (BDM) will be responsible for driving sales and revenue growth through the sale of IT hardware solutions to Small & Medium Businesses (SMBs) and Government customers. The role requires strong experience in IT hardware sales, relationship management, tendering, and account development across both private and public sector clients.

Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Sales
  • Identify, develop, and close new business opportunities for IT hardware sales.
  • Manage end-to-end sales cycle from lead generation to deal closure.
  • Achieve monthly and annual sales targets for SMB and Government accounts.
  • Develop strong relationships with key decision-makers and procurement teams.
SMB & Enterprise Sales
  • Handle direct sales to SMB clients for IT hardware solutions.
  • Understand client IT infrastructure requirements and recommend suitable hardware.
  • Prepare quotations, proposals, and commercial offers.
Government & PSU Sales
  • Handle sales to Government departments, PSUs, and semi-government organizations.
  • Participate in tenders, RFPs, and GeM portal processes.
  • Coordinate with internal teams for documentation, compliance, and bid submissions.
  • Follow up on purchase orders, deliveries, and payments.
Vendor & Internal Coordination
  • Coordinate with OEMs, distributors, and suppliers for pricing and availability.
  • Work closely with procurement, finance, and logistics teams.
  • Ensure timely order execution and customer satisfaction.
Market Intelligence & Reporting
  • Track market trends, competitor activities, and pricing benchmarks.
  • Maintain accurate sales pipeline, CRM updates, and forecasting reports.
  • Provide regular sales performance updates to management.
Skills & Competencies
  • Strong experience in IT hardware sales (desktops, laptops, servers, networking, accessories).
  • Good understanding of SMB buying behavior and Government procurement processes.
  • Experience with GeM portal and Government tendering is preferred.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Strong relationship-building and account management ability.
  • Self-driven with the ability to work independently and meet targets.
Education
  • Graduate in any discipline (MBA in Sales/Marketing preferred).
Experience
  • 36 years of experience in IT hardware sales.
  • Proven experience in selling to SMB and Government customers.
