About the role:
We are looking for a high-impact Business Development Manager to drive growth across a diversified portfolio of food and nutraceutical ingredients. The role goes beyond pure sales and includes expanding into new product categories, identifying market opportunities, and building strong B2B relationships across the nutrition, food, and dairy ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
1. Revenue & Category Expansion
- Drive sales across a wide portfolio including:
- Whey Proteins (WPC/WPI)
- Plant Proteins (Pea Protein, Rice Protein, etc.)
- Amino Acids and Performance Ingredients (Creatine, BCAAs, Glutamine, etc.)
- Dairy Powders (SMP, WMP, Caseinates, etc.)
- Identify and onboard new product categories based on market demand and gaps
2. Business Development & Key Accounts
- Identify, develop, and manage key B2B accounts across:
- Sports nutrition brands
- Nutraceutical companies
- Food & beverage manufacturers
- Dairy processors
- Build long-term relationships with importers, distributors, and direct clients
- Drive repeat business and increase share of wallet from existing clients
3. Market Intelligence & Sourcing Inputs
- Track market trends, pricing movements, and competitor activity across ingredient categories
- Identify high-demand SKUs and provide inputs for product portfolio expansion
- Work closely with sourcing/import teams to align supply with market demand
6. Industry Presence
- Represent the company at trade shows, exhibitions, and industry events
- Build visibility and credibility in the food & nutraceutical ingredients space
Requirements
- 3–7 years of B2B sales experience in:
- Food ingredients / nutraceutical ingredients / dairy commodities
- Strong network with:
- Sports nutrition brands
- Nutraceutical companies
- Food & dairy manufacturers
- Prior experience in one or more categories:
- Proteins (whey/plant), amino acids, creatine, or dairy powders
- Strong commercial acumen with understanding of pricing, margins, and supply dynamics
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
- Self-driven, entrepreneurial mindset with ability to build new categories from scratch
