Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate bar staff during shifts, assigning duties and ensuring adequate coverage
  • Train new bartenders on drink recipes, pour standards, POS systems, and customer service expectations
  • Monitor bar service to ensure speed, accuracy, and quality, stepping in to prepare drinks during peak periods
  • Manage inventory: track stock levels, place orders, conduct regular counts, and minimize waste or over-pouring
  • Enforce responsible alcohol service policies, including checking IDs and recognizing signs of intoxication
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and licensing regulations (e.g. sanitation standards, liquor laws)
  • Handle customer complaints or escalations with professionalism and tact
  • Conduct cash handling, reconcile tills, and oversee end-of-shift reporting
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including equipment maintenance
  • Collaborate with management on menu development, pricing, and promotions
  • Schedule staff shifts and approve timesheets
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide coaching or disciplinary action as needed
