Job Description

I. ABOUT PIZZA 4P'S INDIA

Born in Vietnam with the mission Delivering Wow, Sharing Happiness, Pizza 4P's has grown into one of Asia's most loved restaurant brands — famous for house-made cheese, artisanal pizza, and heartfelt Omotenashi hospitality. Now, its most exciting chapter yet begins in India.

Pizza 4P's India is a startup with the soul of a craft kitchen and the ambition of a movement. We are opening our first 2nd stores this year — and over the next 5 years, we will grow to 50 stores across the country, bringing our Earth-to-People philosophy, fresh house-made cheese, and the magic of our handcrafted pizza ovens to one of the world's most vibrant food cultures.

Joining us now means building something from the ground up: shaping the culture, growing the team, and creating dining experiences India has never seen before. Every hire, every store opening, and every wow moment will carry your fingerprints.

II. ROLE PURPOSE

The HR Manager leads the full Human Resources agenda for Pizza 4P's India. With 2 stores launching this year and a roadmap to scale to 50 stores within 5 years, this role builds the people foundation for rapid expansion — ensuring talent readiness, workforce effectiveness, and full legal compliance from market entry through scale-up. As the company is still at the startup stage, this is a hands-on role: the HR Manager personally executes alongside setting strategy — from screening candidates and running payroll to onboarding the very first store teams — until the function scales.

Reporting to: Country Manager – India

Functional reporting line to: Global People & Culture Division

Scope: Corporate office, all store locations, and the cheese factory across India (currently 2 stores in Bangalore, expanding to 50 nationwide)

III. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

HR Management & Workforce Effectiveness

  • Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with business priorities and growth plans
  • Lead onboarding, training, engagement, and retention initiatives
  • Oversee performance management and appraisal systems
  • Manage employee relations, disciplinary cases, and investigations
  • Ensure payroll accuracy, timeliness, and full compliance with Indian labor laws (PF, ESI, gratuity, state Shops & Establishments Acts, POSH) and company policies
  • Align Compensation & Benefits practices with local market standards
  • Maintain HR records and prepare required HR reports
  • Lead the development and maintenance of local HR policies (accommodation, travel, leave, disciplinary) in line with Indian labor laws
  • Oversee the partner accommodation program, including policy, eligibility, and cost management
  • Manage the end-to-end offboarding process, including exit interviews, settlements, and documentation
  • Oversee attendance and leave administration, probation reviews, and monthly promotion and increment processes
  • Monitor changes in labor regulations (e.g., minimum wage revisions) and proactively update company practices
  • Support expatriate partners with relocation, documentation, and administrative setup
  • Maintain accurate and reliable HR data across systems and drive digitalization of HR operations

Talent Management

  • Lead end-to-end talent acquisition, including workforce planning, sourcing, screening, interviewing, and offer management for both corporate and store positions
  • Build a repeatable new-store hiring playbook (staffing model, hiring timelines, and training handover per store) to support the expansion from 2 to 50 stores within 5 years
  • Develop internal promotion pathways and a Store Manager / Pizzaiolo leadership pipeline so each new store can be led by home-grown talent
  • Identify high-potential employees and create individual development plans (training, coaching, cross-store exposure) to accelerate their readiness for bigger roles
  • Maintain succession plans for key roles (Store Manager, Head Chef / Pizzaiolo, corporate leads) so every planned store opening has identified successors in advance
  • Build proactive talent pipelines (hospitality institutes, culinary schools, referral programs) and establish Pizza 4P's employer brand in the Indian F&B market
  • Manage recruitment channels, agencies, and job portals; track and improve hiring metrics such as time-to-fill, cost-per-hire, and quality of hire
  • Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements and ensure a positive, consistent candidate experience aligned with Omotenashi values
  • Maintain continuous hiring for existing stores to ensure full staffing alongside new-store expansion

Communication & Coordination

  • Act as the key contact point for employees, vendors, partners, and stakeholders
  • Coordinate closely with Global People & Culture Team to ensure alignment
  • Support cross-functional collaboration across HR, Operations, and other departments

Additional Responsibilities

  • Support company events, meetings, and internal activities
  • Handle ad-hoc tasks and projects assigned by the Country Manager
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and operational efficiency

Culture & Engagement

  • Localize and roll out 4P's culture programs and values activation initiatives across India
  • Develop and run partner recognition programs aligned with 4P's values
  • Drive engagement improvement through action plans based on partner survey insights
  • Plan and deliver company events and internal culture activities

IV. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience & Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an HR Manager, HR Business Partner, or similar role
  • Background in retail, F&B, or restaurant operations preferred; experience scaling teams through rapid multi-site expansion is a strong advantage
  • Strong knowledge of recruitment, performance management, and employee relations
  • Strong knowledge of Indian labor regulations (PF, ESI, gratuity, Shops & Establishments Acts, POSH) and HR best practices; multi-state compliance experience a plus
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
  • Hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves working style — comfortable personally executing day-to-day HR tasks without a support team, as expected in a startup environment
