The team is responsible for end-to-end service management, including engineering, automation, deployment, operations, governance, and reporting for enterprise backup services across The Hartford's multi-cloud environment. This is an opportunity to be part of a collaborative team focused on enhancing core backup, recovery, reporting, and compliance capabilities using private and public cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, deploy, and maintain Enterprise Backup Reporting solutions that support The Hartford's multi-cloud backup environment.
  • Own and enhance daily enterprise backup reporting processes, including data extraction, validation, defect remediation, delivery monitoring, and stakeholder support.
  • Engineer and maintain Rubrik Security Cloud (RSC) reporting integrations, reporting SDK automation, and related reporting workflows using PowerShell, SQL, SSRS, Power BI, Power Apps, and approved DevOps tooling.
  • Validate and deploy RSC reporting SDK updates, API changes, and cmdlet enhancements across non-production and production reporting environments.
  • Develop automated reporting data feeds and extracts for backup status, replication status, recovery events, archival data, compliance status, SLA domain details, tagging, application mapping, and operational KPIs.
  • Administer and support the Annual Backup Recertification process, including data snapshots, Power Apps workflow support, stakeholder communications, office hours, status reporting, user guidance, FAQs, runbooks, and final recertification statistics.
  • Support backup-data governance by reconciling Rubrik, CMDB, SnowMirror, mTE, application ownership, asset mapping, and reporting data sources.
  • Analyze and resolve reporting anomalies related to backup status, compliance status, cloud tags, SLA domains, application mappings, and missing or stale reporting data.
  • Collaborate with application owners, cloud operations, database teams, BaaS support, IT architects, and governance partners to implement reporting requirements, data corrections, and process improvements.
  • Coordinate with Rubrik support and engineering teams to track product issues, reporting SDK defects, enhancement requests, and support case resolution.
  • Provide audit and governance support by generating evidence and reporting for backup configurations, SLA domain mappings, policy alignment, recertification results, and recovery-related inquiries.
  • Maintain operational documentation, runbooks, job aides, FAQs, and process artifacts that support enterprise backup reporting and recertification operations.
  • Support migration and transformation initiatives by ensuring backup-reporting continuity, application mapping accuracy, and reporting visibility across legacy, cloud, and modernized platforms.
  • Provide operational and technical support to internal users with an emphasis on reporting accuracy, stability, transparency, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience designing, engineering, and supporting enterprise backup reporting solutions, reporting automation, and operational data pipelines for cloud and hybrid backup environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Rubrik Security Cloud (RSC), Rubrik reporting modules, or comparable enterprise backup platforms, including reporting SDKs, APIs, and automation interfaces.
  • Strong working knowledge of PowerShell, SQL, SSRS, Power BI, Power Apps, and data integration concepts used to support operational reporting and governance workflows.
  • Experience with cloud backup data and reporting use cases across AWS services such as EC2, RDS, EBS, S3, and DynamoDB is preferred.
  • Working knowledge of CMDB, SnowMirror, ServiceNow/mTE, application ownership data, tagging, and asset-to-application mapping concepts is preferred.
  • Familiarity with data protection, operational recovery, disaster recovery, cyber recovery, backup compliance, and immutable backup concepts is preferred.
  • Basic Unix or server administration, scripting, network, and firewall concepts are required.
  • Working knowledge of modern DevOps and infrastructure deployment concepts, including toolsets such as GitHub, Ansible, and Terraform, is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to investigate data discrepancies, identify root causes, and implement durable reporting improvements.
  • Excellent documentation, communication, organizational, and time-management skills with the ability to adjust to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strategic thinking skills with the ability to provide options, assess solutions, and understand business, compliance, governance, and operational impacts holistically.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
