About The Role
We are looking for an experienced
Backup Engineer L2 – Veeam Backup to manage, monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize enterprise backup and disaster recovery environments. The role involves administering Veeam Backup & Replication, backup and replication operations, recovery environments, cloud and object storage, tape infrastructure, and disaster recovery solutions while ensuring data protection, high availability, and business continuity.

Working Days: Monday to Saturday
Shift: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM (General Shift)
2nd and 4th Saturday: Remote Support
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor daily backup, replication, and restore operations and ensure successful completion within defined SLAs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex backup and replication issues escalated from L1 support.
- Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring incidents and implement preventive measures.
- Perform Instant VM Recovery, File-Level Restore, Application-Aware Restore, and granular recovery operations.
- Configure and manage Backup Jobs, Backup Copy Jobs, Replication Jobs, SureBackup, and SureReplica.
- Configure and manage Scale-Out Backup Repository (SOBR), Hardened Linux Repository, and Object Storage integration.
- Perform plugin-based backup and restore operations for enterprise applications and databases.
- Configure and manage Veeam Agent for Windows, Veeam Agent for Linux, and Protection Groups.
- Configure, manage, and troubleshoot backup and restore operations for Windows Failover Clusters, SQL FCI, and CSV environments.
- Manage tape infrastructure including Tape Libraries, Tape Drives, Media Pools, GFS Retention Policies, and Tape Backup and Restore Operations.
- Configure and monitor cloud backups for AWS, Azure, and Microsoft 365 workloads.
- Perform Disaster Recovery drills, failover/failback testing, and backup validation activities to meet RPO/RTO requirements.
- Use Veeam ONE for proactive monitoring, alerting, reporting, and capacity planning.
- Coordinate with virtualization, storage, network, and application teams for issue resolution and optimization.
- Maintain SOPs, RCA documents, backup architecture documentation, and operational reports.
- Follow ITIL-based Incident, Change, and Problem Management processes.

Certifications such as
VMCE, VMware VCP, Microsoft, AWS, or Azure certifications will be an added advantage.
Experience working in enterprise backup, infrastructure, and disaster recovery environments.
