Backup and Storage Admin

Job description:

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain backup and storage infrastructure, primarily using Tandberg data tools.
• Perform daily backup operations, monitoring, and validation of data integrity and restore procedures.
• Schedule and execute periodic backups and ensure adherence to backup policies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve backup failures, hardware issues, and data restore requests.
• Monitor storage utilization, perform capacity planning, and recommend upgrades when necessary.
• Maintain and document backup configuration, recovery procedures, and DR policies.
• Coordinate with internal teams to support server and database backup requirements.
• Ensure compliance with company data retention and protection policies.

Technical Skills Required:

• Hands-on experience with Tandberg backup solutions.
• Good knowledge of tape libraries, disk storage systems, and backup software.
• Familiarity with storage protocols: NAS, SAN, iSCSI, RAID.
• Experience with Windows/Linux servers and basic scripting (PowerShell or Shell).
• Understanding of Disaster Recovery (DR) planning and implementation.
• Knowledge of data security, encryption, and retention compliance.
