We are looking for Backup Admin Lead for Pune location.
Experience : 12+ years
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Backup Administration team in day-to-day operations, project planning, and escalation support.
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise backup solutions using tools such as Commvault, Veritas NetBackup, Veeam, Dell EMC Avamar/Data Domain, or similar.
- Develop and maintain data protection policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Monitor backup jobs and system performance, proactively resolving failures and inefficiencies.
- Ensure successful execution of backup jobs and restore processes for physical and virtual environments (VMware, Hyper-V, cloud-based).
- Perform regular disaster recovery testing and maintain DR runbooks and procedures.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, and application teams to ensure data protection standards are met for new systems.
- Ensure compliance with data retention, privacy, and security regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO).
- Manage backup infrastructure lifecycle, including upgrades, patches, and capacity planning.
- Participate in on-call support rotation as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong knowledge of backup technologies (e.g., Commvault, Dell EMC, Cohesity).
- Solid understanding of disaster recovery, data retention policies, and business continuity planning.
- Experience with scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python) to automate backup processes.
- Familiar with ITIL practices and service management tools like ServiceNow.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
