Job Description

Background Screening Specialist

Responsible for conducting end-to-end background screening processes, including researching criminal and civil court records across authorized databases, interpreting legal terminology, verifying identity, and ensuring compliance with FCRA and applicable data privacy regulations. Ensures accuracy, authenticity, and completeness of records retrieved from government bodies, courts, and approved data sources.

Performs multi-stream verification workflows including criminal, civil, employment, education, reference, and medical record checks. Validates data, identifies discrepancies, and conducts quality assurance while adhering to defined SLAs and audit standards. Reviews and processes records, follows up with external parties (including outbound communication) to resolve incomplete or inconsistent information, and ensures proper documentation.

Analyses criminal records through multiple sources such as national databases, county/state courts, federal courts (PACER), sex offender registries, and motor vehicle records (MVR). Differentiates true matches from false positives using key identifiers and supports adjudication processes based on client and compliance guidelines.

Maintains accurate case documentation in screening systems, ensures data integrity, and supports audit readiness. Collaborates with internal teams and stakeholders, escalates risks or adverse findings, and ensures timely case completion while maintaining strict confidentiality.
