My client is a specialist provider of secure financial services infrastructure across Europe. They design, build, and operate mission-critical platforms where performance, resilience, and data integrity are non-negotiable.
They are seeking a Senior .NET Backend Developer with strong SQL and infrastructure experience to help modernise and scale complex backend systems. This role is focused on high-performance services, data-intensive workloads, and secure financial processing systems, all within a fully remote, globally distributed team.
What You'll Do:
- Design and build high-performance backend systems using .NET (latest versions).
- Work extensively with SQL Server for complex queries, optimisation, and large-scale data processing.
- Develop and maintain robust APIs and backend services.
- Support data-heavy workflows, including batch processing and secure file handling.
- Collaborate on system architecture, performance tuning, and scalability improvements.
- Contribute to a modernisation journey from legacy systems to more scalable, cloud-ready platforms.
What You Bring:
- Strong experience in C# and .NET (Core / .NET 6/7/8).
- Deep expertise in SQL Server (query optimisation, indexing, performance tuning).
- Solid understanding of backend architecture and distributed systems.
- Experience building and maintaining APIs and data processing pipelines.
- Familiarity with infrastructure concepts (cloud platforms, CI/CD, deployments, monitoring).
- Experience working in regulated environments (ideally financial services).
- Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently in a remote setup.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with Azure or other cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of messaging systems (e.g., Service Bus, Kafka).
- Exposure to DevOps practices, containers, or infrastructure-as-code.
- Experience with data security, encryption, or compliance frameworks.
