What You'll Actually Do
- This is a backend engineering role focused on building distributed systems, with involvement in AI-powered features.
- Design, build, and improve backend systems that handle real business workflows, such as calls, CRM interactions, and WhatsApp follow-ups
- Develop backend services and APIs using Node.js to support core product features
- Build and scale our core communication infrastructure, including telephony, messaging, and complex workflows
- Design robust, forward-looking systems that can handle massive traffic while remaining flexible.
- Contribute to AI Agents and AI-first features by working on a full-stack approach to launching or improving features
- Help set up observability — track where calls go wrong, where agents hallucinate, where latency spikes
Who You Are
- You're comfortable with Node.js; experience with Go is a plus.
- Strong programming fundamentals and the ability to write clean, reliable code
- You've worked with LLMs, AI-first framework or tools, and built real applications (more than a happy case demo).
- You don't wait to be unblocked — when something isn't documented, you dig in, try things, and figure it out
- You've built something end-to-end and shipped it — a working project that real users touched.
- Focused on building systems that work reliably for real users, not just passing tests
- If you've played with RAG or vector databases, that's a bonus
