About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Backend Engineer with a focus on AI and data science to join our dynamic team at Insight Global. This role involves developing and maintaining robust backend applications, primarily utilizing FastAPI, and integrating advanced AI workflows within the Azure ecosystem. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in Python engineering, extensive experience in building AI agents and workflows, and a keen interest in deploying innovative AI solutions at scale. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, develop APIs, and operationalize AI models to support enterprise-wide initiatives. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of AI technology, contributing to the growth of our AI Center of Excellence and delivering impactful solutions to our clients.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Python engineering and data science with demonstrated experience in building scalable backend applications.
- 2-3 years of hands-on experience developing backend services using FastAPI.
- At least 1 year of experience designing and implementing AI agents and agent workflows.
- Proficiency in end-to-end RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) implementations.
- Experience working within the Azure cloud ecosystem, including CI/CD workflows and data services.
- Familiarity with AI frameworks and the ability to adapt quickly to new AI methodologies.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with experience working in agile, global teams.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and deploying production-grade APIs and AI workflows that align with business needs. Key responsibilities include:
- Designing, developing, and maintaining backend applications using FastAPI and Python.
- Integrating enterprise data sources and ensuring seamless data flow within AI solutions.
- Operationalizing AI models and workflows, including implementing retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) solutions end-to-end.
- Collaborating with data scientists, product managers, and business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Building and managing AI agents, including understanding integration approaches such as publishing web services or API patterns.
- Working within the Azure environment to implement CI/CD pipelines, data management, and deployment strategies.
- Contributing to the development of the company's AI Center of Excellence by sharing expertise and best practices.
