About The Role

We are looking for a highly skilled Backend Engineer with 4 to 5 years of professional experience in Python development to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining our healthcare-focused SaaS platform. Your expertise will help ensure the system's backend is robust, scalable, and secure, supporting critical laboratory and clinical operations. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including QA, DevOps, and product management to deliver high-quality solutions that meet industry standards and client expectations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on impactful projects within a regulated healthcare environment, leveraging modern technologies and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4-5 years of professional experience in backend development, specifically with Python.
  • Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming principles and asynchronous programming techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with Django, Django REST Framework (DRF), and FastAPI frameworks.
  • Proficiency in designing and maintaining RESTful APIs, including authentication methods and API versioning.
  • Experience working with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, and familiarity with ORM tools.
  • Knowledge of caching mechanisms, particularly Redis, for performance optimization.
  • Experience with task processing tools like Celery, RabbitMQ, or AWS SQS.
  • Working knowledge of cloud services, especially AWS, along with containerization using Docker.
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and testing frameworks to ensure continuous integration and delivery.
  • Preferred: Exposure to microservices architecture, healthcare or regulated environments, and multi-environment deployment processes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, optimize, and maintain backend services using Python, ensuring high performance and scalability.
  • Design and implement scalable RESTful APIs to support both internal applications and external integrations.
  • Manage database schemas, queries, and ORM tools to ensure data integrity and efficiency.
  • Implement caching strategies using Redis or similar technologies to enhance system responsiveness.
  • Coordinate with QA teams to perform thorough testing and debugging of backend components.
  • Collaborate with DevOps to streamline deployment processes, manage infrastructure, and monitor system health.
  • Ensure the security of backend systems by implementing best practices for authentication, authorization, and data protection.
  • Maintain comprehensive technical and API documentation to facilitate team understanding and future development.
  • Participate in code reviews, team meetings, and knowledge sharing to foster a collaborative development environment.
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and incorporate new technologies to improve system capabilities.
