We are looking for an experienced Backend Developer with 4+ years of professional experience and strong hands-on expertise in Node.js to join our development team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of backend architecture, API development, databases, security, and performance optimization. You should be comfortable taking ownership of backend services independently and working closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and reliable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable and high-performance backend applications using Node.js.
- Build and maintain robust RESTful APIs using Node.js and Express.js or similar frameworks.
- Design efficient database schemas, queries, and data models.
- Work extensively with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL.
- Implement secure authentication, authorization, and API access controls.
- Integrate third-party APIs, webhooks, and external services.
- Implement proper input validation, error handling, logging, and monitoring.
- Develop background jobs, scheduled tasks, and asynchronous processes.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve development and production issues.
- Optimize applications for performance, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Write clean, reusable, well-structured, and well-documented code.
- Participate in code reviews and follow coding standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with frontend developers, QA, UI/UX, Product, and other stakeholders.
- Support backend deployments, production releases, and post-release troubleshooting.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 4+ years of professional experience in backend development.
- Strong hands-on experience with Node.js is mandatory.
- Strong proficiency in JavaScript and/or TypeScript.
- Hands-on experience with Express.js or other Node.js backend frameworks.
- Strong understanding of RESTful API development and backend architecture.
- Good experience with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL.
- Strong knowledge of SQL, database design, indexing, and query optimization.
- Experience implementing JWT, authentication, authorization, and API security.
- Strong understanding of Node.js asynchronous programming, Promises, callbacks, and Event Loop.
- Good understanding of HTTP, JSON, webhooks, and third-party API integrations.
- Proficiency with Git and Git-based development workflows.
- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of assigned projects.
Good to Have
- Strong experience with TypeScript.
- Knowledge of Redis, caching, and performance optimization.
- Experience with RabbitMQ, Kafka, or other message queue systems.
- Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized applications.
- Exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes.
- Experience working with microservices architecture.
- Experience with WebSockets / Socket.IO.
- Knowledge of Jest or other backend testing frameworks.
- Familiarity with Linux and Nginx.
- Experience working in a production environment with high-volume APIs or scalable systems.
