Job Description
We are seeking a highly meticulous and experienced professional to join our Commodity Trade Processing team. This role is central to ensuring the efficient, accurate, and compliant settlement of all commodity transactions, with a primary focus on operations across Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) and National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX).
I. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
A. Core Trade Settlement & Processing
Manage the end-to-end trade lifecycle for all commodity transactions, ensuring accurate capture, validation, and processing across relevant exchanges.
Execute and oversee physical delivery operations, including the critical processes of delivery allocation, pay-in/pay-out, and the meticulous handling of all supporting documentation.
Proactively identify, investigate, and resolve all trade discrepancies, delivery exceptions, and complex operational breaks in a timely manner.
B. Reconciliation, Risk & Reporting
Perform daily margin reporting and allocation reporting, coupled with comprehensive reconciliation processes to ensure data integrity across internal books and exchange statements.
Maintain strict compliance with all Exchange/Regulatory guidelines (e.g., SEBI, Exchange Circulars), ensuring operational adherence is non-negotiable.
Support periodic and ad-hoc requirements for audits, regulatory reporting, and the preparation of Management Information Systems (MIS) reports related to commodity operations.
C. Stakeholder Coordination
Act as the primary operational liaison with external entities, including Clearing Corporations, Depositories, and Warehouses.
Coordinate seamlessly with internal Front Office, Finance, and Risk teams to streamline operational flow and promptly resolve trade-related queries.
II. Essential Qualifications & Skills
Experience: Proven track record (ideally 5-10 years) in commodity trade processing, back-office operations, or a closely related settlement function.
Domain Expertise: Comprehensive working knowledge of MCX and NCDEX commodity markets, including deep understanding of futures and options.
Technical Knowledge: Solid grasp of commodity settlement cycles, margin methodologies, and the physical delivery mechanism in the Indian context.
Analytical Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, analytical proficiency, and strong reconciliation skills to manage large datasets and resolve complex breaks.
Tools: High proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis, reporting, and operational tracking.
Compliance: Demonstrated familiarity with exchange circulars and robust commitment to regulatory compliance.
