Senior Backend / AI Microservices Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to design and build scalable microservice-based systems with integrated AI capabilities. This role focuses on backend development using Java and Python, with Python used strictly for headless API and service logic. Experience with AWS cloud services and WordPress tools will be considered a strong advantage.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop backend microservices using Java and Python

Build headless Python services using Flask for APIs and AI integrations

Integrate AI/ML and LLM-based services into production systems

Develop and maintain RESTful APIs and service-to-service communication

Deploy, monitor, and scale services on AWS

Ensure reliability, security, performance, and scalability of backend systems

Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code

Participate in architecture discussions and technical reviews

Required Skills & Qualifications

Strong experience in Java (Spring Boot or similar)

Strong experience in Python (Flask only) for backend services

Solid understanding of microservice architecture and distributed systems

Experience integrating AI/ML or LLM services via APIs

Experience building RESTful backend APIs

Familiarity with Docker and containerized deployments

Experience with relational and NoSQL databases

Optional / Nice-to-Have Skills

Hands-on experience with AWS services, such as:

ECS/EKS, Lambda

API Gateway, S3, RDS, DynamoDB

CloudWatch, IAM

Experience with WordPress tools and ecosystem:

Custom plugins and integrations

WordPress REST APIs

Headless WordPress setups

Experience with Node.js backend development

Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

Exposure to event-driven architectures and message queues

AI-Focused Competencies

Designing AI-powered backend services

Managing AI performance, scalability, and cost

Monitoring AI outputs and system behavior

Applying responsible AI and data privacy practices
