WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Design and build RESTful APIs using Node.js and Express/Fastify

• Own backend services end-to-end — from schema design to deployment and monitoring

• Work with PostgreSQL/MongoDB and optimize queries for performance at scale

• Collaborate with frontend engineers and product to ship features iteratively and fast

• Implement authentication, authorization, and security best practices

• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and developer tooling

MUST-HAVES

• 2–5 years of professional backend development experience

• Strong command of Node.js, async patterns, and the JavaScript/TypeScript ecosystem

• Experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL preferred) and ORMs (Prisma, Drizzle, etc.)

• Hands-on experience with AWS (preferred); familiarity with other cloud platforms is a plus

• Solid understanding of HTTP, REST principles, and API design patterns

• Comfortable working in ambiguity and making good trade-offs under time pressure

NICE TO HAVE

– Redis / caching and message queues

– Vector databases (e.g. Pinecone, Weaviate, pgvector)

– Comfortable using AI coding tools in daily workflow (e.g. Cursor, Claude, GitHub Copilot)
