Azure SQL Administration

Job Description:
- Manage Azure database services including: Azure SQL Database Azure SQL Managed Instance SQL Server on Azure VM
- Configure: Azure Backup Geo-replication Failover groups Private endpoints and networking Monitor workloads using: Azure Monitor Log Analytics Query Performance Insight Optimize cost and performance of Azure SQL workloads Backup, Recovery, and DR Design and maintain backup strategies Perform database restore testing Implement disaster recovery solutions Support business continuity planning Performance Automation Troubleshoot blocking, deadlocks, and slow queries
- Use tools like: SQL Profiler Extended Events DMVs Automate tasks using: PowerShell T-SQL scripting Azure Automation Runbooks Implement monitoring and alerting
- Patching Compliance Apply SQL Server CUs, service packs, and security patches Ensure compliance with security and audit standards
- Support audit and vulnerability remediation activities Incident Problem Management
- Act as L3 escalation point for database incidents
- Perform root cause analysis RCA Support production releases and maintenance windows
