Role Description
Forasoftware is seeking a highly skilled Microsoft Azure Presales Engineer to join our team and drive technical solutioning for Microsoft-based enterprise environments. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Microsoft Cloud, Modern Workplace, Azure, and related technologies, helping customers design, scope, and adopt Microsoft solutions effectively. This role requires a blend of technical proficiency, business acumen, and strong communication skills to support the sales team in delivering compelling solutions.
We are seeking an Azure Presales Engineer to support the sales team by designing, positioning, and demonstrating Microsoft Azure–based solutions. The role involves understanding customer business and technical requirements, creating solution architectures, preparing proposals, and acting as a trusted technical advisor throughout the sales cycle.
Key Responsibilities
Presales & Solution Design
- Work closely with sales, business development, and account teams to understand customer requirements
- Design end-to-end Azure cloud solutions including:
- Compute, Storage, Networking
- Azure Virtual Machines, App Services, AKS
- Azure Active Directory, Security & Governance
- Provide technical solutioning for cloud migration, modernization, and cloud-native applications
Customer Engagement
- Conduct technical discovery sessions, workshops, and requirement-gathering meetings
- Deliver high-quality product demos, POCs, and solution presentations
- Respond to RFPs/RFIs/RFQs with accurate and compelling technical inputs
Architecture & Documentation
- Create solution architectures, HLDs/LLDs, BOMs, and cost estimations
- Prepare Azure pricing, licensing, and TCO/ROI justification
- Ensure solutions align with Azure best practices and Well-Architected Framework
Sales Enablement
- Support deal qualification and solution feasibility assessment
- Assist in defining scope, assumptions, risks, and dependencies
- Work with delivery teams for solution handover after deal closure
Microsoft & Partner Collaboration
- Coordinate with Microsoft (CSA, PDMs) and OEM/ISV partners
- Stay updated on Azure roadmap, new services, and licensing changes
Required Skills & Experience
Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Azure services
- Experience in:
- Azure Networking (VNet, VPN, ExpressRoute)
- Identity & Security (Azure AD, Defender, Sentinel)
- Backup, DR, and High Availability designs
- Understanding of cloud migration strategies (Lift & Shift, Re-platform, Re-architect)
- Knowledge of DevOps concepts (CI/CD, ARM/Bicep/Terraform – preferred)
- Familiarity with Windows/Linux workloads and hybrid cloud environments
Presales Skills
- Experience in presales, technical consulting, or solution architecture
- Ability to translate business needs into technical solutions
- Proposal writing, effort estimation, and commercial understanding
- Excellent presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field
- Microsoft Azure certifications (preferred):
- Azure Administrator (AZ-104)
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305)
- Azure Security Engineer (AZ-500)
