Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Azure Network Architect (SD-WAN) to design, deploy, and manage secure and scalable SD‑WAN architectures within Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in Azure networking, Fortinet SD‑WAN solutions, and hybrid connectivity between cloud and on-premises environments. This role involves planning and executing network migrations while ensuring high availability, security, and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement SD‑WAN architectures within Microsoft Azure.
- Deploy and configure Fortinet FortiGate firewalls in Azure environments.
- Lead Azure SD‑WAN deployment initiatives, ensuring seamless cloud networking.
- Integrate Fortinet SD‑WAN solutions with Azure-native networking services such as:
- Virtual Networks (VNet)
- Azure Firewall
- VPN Gateway
- ExpressRoute
- Build and deploy new FortiGate firewall instances in Azure, including:
- Initial provisioning and configuration
- High availability setup
- Security policy enforcement
- Migrate existing firewall policies and configurations to Azure-based FortiGate solutions.
- Ensure configuration consistency and minimal downtime during migration activities.
- Plan and execute Azure site migrations to SD‑WAN environments.
- Develop detailed migration strategies and cutover plans.
- Integrate SD‑WAN solutions with on-premises infrastructure to ensure:
- Secure connectivity
- Reliable performance
- Seamless hybrid networking
- Implement and maintain network security best practices.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including cloud architects, security teams, and infrastructure engineers.
- Create and maintain network documentation, architecture diagrams, and runbooks.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Expertise
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure cloud networking.
- Hands-on experience designing and deploying SD‑WAN architectures in Azure.
- Expertise in Fortinet SD‑WAN solutions, including:
- FortiGate firewalls in Azure
- SD‑WAN orchestration and configuration
- Experience with:
- Azure networking (VNet, NSG, VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute)
- Hybrid cloud connectivity
- Network security and firewall policies
- Proven ability to:
- Deploy FortiGate instances in Azure
- Migrate firewall configurations without service disruption
- Implement secure and scalable network architectures
Preferred Qualifications
- Fortinet certifications (e.g., NSE4 / NSE5 / NSE7).
- Azure certifications (e.g., AZ-104, AZ-700, AZ-305).
- Experience with multi-region Azure network design.
- Knowledge of Zero Trust architecture and cloud security frameworks.
