.NET Azure Architect Job Description

Summary of Position:
The position holder will be responsible for end-to-end solution design with a strong understanding across all facets of architecture: Application, Data, Security, Infrastructure, and Business. This role is part of the Enterprise Architecture team and offers the opportunity to work in a greenfield environment, setting the foundation for future state architecture. The candidate will shape the design of Azure solutions to transform how applications and digital services connect and share information. A strong understanding of Azure PaaS, containerization, and API Management is essential to ensure robust, cost-effective, secure, and scalable solution options. They will translate business, technical, functional, and non-functional requirements into solution design artifacts for developers and testers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Strong understanding and practical experience in planning and delivering cloud migration projects
- Understanding of traditional monolithic, cloud-native, and mobile architectures
- Design architectural layers including Conceptual and Solution Architecture Documents
- Engage in architecture governance, review boards, and working group meetings
- Contribute to business cases and request for proposals
- Update and maintain the Enterprise Repository with architecture revisions
- Identify and manage risks and issues early in the process
- Support planning, implementation, and migration of applications and infrastructure services
- Oversee architectural governance throughout design, construction, and operational phases
- Provide direction to technical teams to ensure adherence to target architecture
- Ability to work in an Agile environment
- Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, Project Managers, Vendors, and Stakeholders
- Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications
- Contribute and expand on integration principles, patterns, and standards
- Support implementation and maintenance of integration solutions
- Demonstrated knowledge of TOGAF (nice to have)
- Microsoft Azure certifications (nice to have)
Required Skills:
- Extensive experience in creating end-to-end highly available solution designs for Azure cloud
- Knowledge of common programming languages such as C#, Node.js, Java
- Experience in building solution design for mobile apps
- Strong technical acumen in Azure Container Apps, CosmosDB, Service Bus, Blob storage, SQL Server, Entra ID, VNets, WAF, Redis, Event Grid, Azure API Management, and DevOps
- Experience with fine/coarse grained APIs and Microservices with emphasis on performance and security
- Create detailed architecture designs including system diagrams, data flows, and deployment models
- Experience with Microsoft Entra ID, Okta or Thales, and logging and monitoring
- Experience completing and delivering Conceptual and Solution Architecture documents
- Ability to present and communicate both business and technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
- Experience with business and technical requirement analysis, business process modeling/mapping, methodology development, and data mapping
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills; ability to design and manage complex cloud infrastructures
- Knowledge of AWS (nice to have)
