Job Description

Responsibilities:

Evaluate on-premises transactional database environments such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, and PostgreSQL, and plan migrations to AWS RDS and Aurora
Enhance database PLSQL/TSQL scripts to migrate from source to target databases
Identify workarounds for specific issues and corner scenarios observed during migration
Develop test plans and test cases to demonstrate database readiness post-migration

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree preferred
6+ years of experience in database development/migration using Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQL
Hands-on experience with AWS services including RDS, Aurora, SCT, and DMS
Experience migrating large databases (>1TB) across multiple database engines (e.g., PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, MariaDB)
Experience with heterogeneous database migrations
Experience in performance optimization techniques
Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Perl, or Python
Experience in database administration tasks like backup/restore and replication
