Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Azure Migration Engineer to lead and execute cloud migration initiatives to Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Azure services, infrastructure migration strategies, automation, and security frameworks. This role involves planning, migrating, optimizing workloads, and ensuring secure, scalable, and cost-efficient cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end migration of applications, databases, and infrastructure workloads to Microsoft Azure.
- Conduct discovery, assessment, and readiness analysis for migration candidates.
- Define migration strategies such as rehost, replatform, and refactor based on workload needs and business priorities.
- Execute migrations using tools including:
- Azure Migrate
- Azure Site Recovery (ASR)
- Database Migration Service (DMS)
- Third-party migration tools
- Perform post-migration validation to ensure performance, security, and availability.
- Design and implement Azure landing zones, networking, identity, and governance frameworks.
- Develop and automate infrastructure deployment using:
- ARM templates / Bicep
- Terraform
- PowerShell
- GitHub workflows
- Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting with:
- Azure Monitor
- Log Analytics
- Microsoft Sentinel
- Ensure workloads comply with Azure security best practices, Zero Trust principles, and regulatory frameworks.
- Optimize workloads for cost efficiency, performance, and scalability.
- Manage Identity and Access Management (IAM), RBAC, and policy-based governance.
- Collaborate with architects, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to align solutions with business requirements.
- Provide technical guidance, troubleshooting support, and migration best practices.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and architecture diagrams.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Technical Expertise
- Strong hands-on experience with:
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Advanced Terraform modules, Bicep authoring
- Version Control & CI/CD: GitHub
- Deep knowledge of:
- Azure services (Compute, Storage, Networking, Identity)
- Migration strategies and tools
- Automation and scripting
- Experience with:
- Azure networking (VNet, NSG, VPN, ExpressRoute)
- Azure Active Directory (Entra ID), RBAC, IAM
- Security frameworks and compliance standards
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools.
