We are hiring for Azure DevOps – Infrastructure as Code (IaC) L2 Support Engineer at HCLtech Lucknow.
Role Overview
The Azure DevOps IaC L2 Support Engineer is responsible for second‑level operational support of cloud infrastructure hosted on Azure. The role focuses on incident resolution, infrastructure recovery, system administration, backup and restore operations, and supporting database and OS‑level activities. The engineer will work closely with L1 support, cloud engineering, and platform teams to ensure service continuity, stability, and compliance with operational standards.
Key Responsibilities
L2 Operational & Escalation Support
- Act as the second‑level escalation point for Azure infrastructure and DevOps‑related incidents.
- Perform detailed root cause analysis (RCA) and provide resolution or workarounds for recurring issues.
- Coordinate with Azure engineering, Microsoft support, and internal platform teams for complex incidents.
Infrastructure Recovery & Incident Response
- Support infrastructure recovery activities during service outages or degradation scenarios.
- Execute recovery procedures using Infrastructure‑as‑Code (IaC) artefacts where applicable.
- Participate in incident bridges, provide technical inputs, and support post‑incident reviews.
Infrastructure as Code & DevOps Support
- Support Azure environments provisioned using IaC tools (ARM, Bicep, Terraform, etc.).
- Assist with troubleshooting pipeline failures related to infrastructure deployments.
- Ensure configuration consistency across environments (Production and Non‑Production).
Server OS Administration & Patching
- Perform OS‑level administration for Linux and Windows servers hosted on Azure.
- Execute and support server OS patching, updates, and vulnerability remediation activities.
- Ensure compliance with patching schedules and security baselines.
Backup & Restore Operations
- Manage and support Azure Backup and Restore operations.
- Perform restore testing and support data recovery during incidents.
- Monitor backup health, failures, and retention policies.
Database Administration Support
- Provide L2 operational support for database administration tasks (Azure SQL, managed databases, or IaaS‑hosted databases).
- Assist with backup, restore, performance troubleshooting, and availability issues in coordination with DBA teams.
Skills & Experience
Mandatory Skills
- Strong hands‑on experience with Microsoft Azure IaaS.
- Experience supporting Infrastructure as Code deployments.
- Solid understanding of Azure networking, compute, storage, and backup services.
- Proficiency in Windows and Linux OS administration.
- Experience in incident management and second‑level support.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with Azure DevOps pipelines.
- Knowledge of monitoring and alerting tools (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics).
- Exposure to ITIL processes and BAU support models.
- Understanding of database platforms in cloud environments.
Working Model
- L2 BAU support role with on‑call or shift‑based support, as required.
Close collaboration with Cloud Engineering, DevOps, Security, and Application teams.
