Azure Cloud Operations

Below are the Client expectations:

Azure Landing Zone (Non-Production) Support

Provide ongoing operational support for up to non-production workloads

Monitor cost, performance, and security posture for non-prod using Azure native services

Enable networking configurations (VNETs, subnets, firewall, NSGs) for test workloads

Creating SOP's for operational tasks to follow suit

Test Virtual Machines (VMs) & EUC

Provision and manage up to test VMs in the Azure non-prod landing zone

Conduct basic performance benchmarking (CPU, storage, network)

Apply patches, updates, and basic monitoring for test VMs and EUC PoC

Provide limited support for application compatibility testing

Readiness, Reporting & Knowledge Transfer

Maintain log of pilot-phase issues and resolutions (20 tickets per month expected)

Share weekly status/progress reports with client

Work with L1 helpdesk provider to enable first contact resolution

Assumptions (with Volumetrics)

Coverage:

Business hours support (MonFri, 8 AM5 PM UK time).

Inside of support hours we will endeavour to respond within 1 hour to L1 helpdesk resolution time will vary based on the nature of ticket/incident

Critical PoC issues supported on-call outside hours (note: service is non-prod)

Tickets / Issues:

Estimated 20 pilot tickets/incidents per month

Split: 30% infra-related, 70% VM/application/EUC

Job Description:

We are seeking a senior-level Azure Cloud Expert with 1216 years of overall IT experience and strong hands-on expertise in Azure system provisioning, Azure virtual provisioning, and operational cloud management. The role involves designing, deploying, and maintaining Azure environments to ensure optimal performance, scalability, and security.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, provision, and manage Azure infrastructure including Virtual Machines, Networking, Storage, and Resource Groups.
• Perform Azure system and virtual provisioning in line with project or client requirements.
• Monitor, maintain, and optimize Azure environments for cost, performance, and security.
• Implement automation and scripting for deployment, configuration, and environment management (PowerShell, ARM templates, Terraform).
• Lead incident management, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for Azure cloud issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement and maintain cloud operations.
• Ensure compliance with organizational security and governance policies.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers on Azure best practices.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 1015 years of overall IT experience, with 5 years in Azure Cloud Infrastructure.
• Deep understanding of Azure Resource Manager (ARM), Azure Networking, Security, and Identity Management.
• Expertise in Azure Virtual Machines, Azure AD, Storage, Backup, and Recovery Services.
• Hands-on experience with automation tools such as PowerShell, Terraform, or Ansible.
• Strong knowledge of monitoring, performance tuning, and cost optimization in Azure.
• Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Microsoft Azure Administrator (AZ-104), Azure Solutions Architect (AZ-305), or equivalent certification preferred.
