Job Description

Role Overview

We are looking for a seasoned Azure Cloud Infrastructure Architect to define and own the architecture of our Golden Path provisioning platform. You will drive the design of scalable, secure, and governance-aligned cloud infrastructure — enabling automated, self-service provisioning across the enterprise. This is an ownership-driven role for someone who can walk into a complex landscape, rapidly understand it, and deliver lasting architectural standards that every engineering team can trust and adopt.

Key Responsibilities

Design the end-to-end architecture for automated infrastructure provisioning across Azure environments.
Define cloud governance standards — including landing zones, RBAC, policies, and network architecture.
Establish the event-driven orchestration model that powers all automation workflows.
Architect integrations with enterprise tools: ServiceNow, Infoblox, Zscaler, Fortigate, and other infrastructure services.
Define security, identity, and access models for automated provisioning pipelines.
Ensure the platform is built for scalability, high reliability, and full operational observability.
Bring a Wholistic Approach — connecting business objectives, technology decisions, and operational outcomes into a unified, coherent architecture strategy.
Demonstrate Comprehensive Understanding of Architecture and Systems — with depth across infrastructure, networking, security, containerisation, and platform engineering layers to make well-informed architectural decisions at every level.
Be the Go-To Architectural Authority — act as the primary owner of platform blueprints, build reusable golden path templates and reference architectures that teams across the organisation can confidently adopt.
Understand the Landscape and Deliver Golden Blueprints — rapidly assess the existing technology estate and produce prescriptive, workload-specific infrastructure blueprints. Define the standard set of Azure services and patterns for each workload type so engineering teams have a clear, proven starting point.
Example: For a Web Application — specify the exact set of Azure services (App Service / AKS, Application Gateway, Azure SQL / Cosmos DB, Key Vault, Front Door, Azure Monitor) along with networking, security, and CI/CD patterns as the approved golden copy.
Blueprints must cover compute, networking, security, identity, observability, DR, and cost governance for every major workload category.
Lead Repository Consolidation (Thousands of Repos Centralized Platform) — own and drive the strategic initiative to consolidate multiple repositories into a single, centralised source control and CI/CD platform. This requires strong ownership, executive communication, and the ability to work hands-on with multiple engineering teams.
Define the target-state repository structure, branching strategy, naming conventions, and governance standards for the centralized platform.
Partner with individual product and engineering teams to migrate their code, pipelines, and automation into the centralized system with minimal disruption.
Design and enforce standardized CI/CD pipeline templates so all teams operate from a consistent, governed delivery framework post-consolidation.
Track and report migration progress, resolve blockers, and drive adoption across the organization.
