Job Description – Azure Cloud Monitoring Engineer

Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Azure Cloud Monitoring Engineer with 7+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure, monitoring, observability, and production support. The candidate should have strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and expertise in at least one of the following monitoring/observability tools: Grafana, AppDynamics, or Splunk.
The role involves monitoring Azure environments, troubleshooting production issues, improving system observability, and working with application and infrastructure teams to ensure high availability and performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and support Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure and applications in production environments.
- Configure and manage monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and observability solutions.
- Troubleshoot infrastructure, application, performance, and availability issues.
- Participate in incident, problem, and change management processes.
- Perform root-cause analysis and provide preventive/corrective actions.
- Identify opportunities to improve monitoring coverage and reduce recurring incidents.
- Support Azure services such as Virtual Machines, AKS, Azure App Services, Storage, Networking, Azure Monitor, and Log Analytics.
- Implement monitoring best practices for availability, performance, capacity, and security.
- Prepare operational documentation, runbooks, and monitoring standards.
Mandatory Skills
- 7+ years of experience in Cloud/Infrastructure Monitoring, Production Support, or Observability.
- Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.
- Hands-on experience with any one of the following:
- Grafana
- AppDynamics
- Splunk
- Good understanding of monitoring concepts including:
- Metrics
- Logs
- Alerts
- Dashboards
- Application performance monitoring
- Infrastructure monitoring
- Root-cause analysis
- Experience troubleshooting production issues in a 24x7 environment.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a production environment, independently handling monitoring and troubleshooting activities, and collaborating with multiple technical teams. Strong experience in Azure along with hands-on expertise in at least one monitoring platform (Grafana/AppDynamics/Splunk) is essential.
