Job Description

looking for an API Developer with 5+ years of experience developing APIs in Azure APIMwho will be able to perform the following tasks:

• Migrate IBM API-Connect hosted APIs to Azure APIM
• Implement current API-Connect polices in the newly created Azure APIM APIs
• Connect the new Azure APIM APIs to the existing backend services
• Deliver Azure APIM-hosted APIs across multiple environments

The ideal candidate will have experience in creating API products and underlying APIs in Azure API Management, implementing API policies and working with modern API technologies such as RESTful services and GraphQL. This role requires an understanding of Microsoft Azure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement Azure API Management (APIM)-hosted APIs, ensuring they meet performance, security, and scalability requirements.
• Create and manage API policies, including security, throttling, caching, and custom scripting.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including backend developers, architects, and DevOps, to integrate APIs with existing services.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to API performance, security, and functionality.
• Monitor API usage and performance using Azure Monitor and Application Insights.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience in API development, with a focus on Azure APIM.
• Proficient in RESTful API design, OpenAPI specifications and microservices architecture.
• Experience with API security standards (OAuth 2.0, JWT, etc.).
• Strong programming skills in languages like C#, Python, or JavaScript.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
• Experience working within a Jira-based agile/scrum-based environment.

Must have skills include the following:

• Microsoft Azure
• Azure API Management API development and configuration
• Azure API deployment

Nice to have skills include:

• DevOps
• API testing using Postman
• Terraform scripting
