Platform Engineer is responsible to create, manage and maintain a set of frameworks, process and automated workflows to allow IT to ship code from development to production in an efficient and reliable manner. Platform Engineer is responsible enabling fast delivery in the cloud.
- Platform Engineer must have come from development background and have an extensive experience (atleast 5+ years) on cloud (AWS/Azure is preferred) setup to leverage IaC using tools like terraform, ARM Templates, Helm or Node etc and other DevOps techniques to reduce the toil of software development and delivery to allow quicker delivery from development into production
- Platorm Engineer must show good understanding of both application software engineering and system Engineering. Good contextual understanding of technologies like Java, JavaScript, NodeJS, Python, Powershell, YAML, Typescript, Docker etc.
- Extensive commercial experience on container technologies & orchestration using Docker, Kubernetes, Azure - Kubernetes AKS and kubernetes tools like kubectl. Good understanding of Azure DevOps and Github or Gitlab, Jenkins, DevOps implementation, Depoyment strategies and experience in implementation and optimizing these deployment strategies to support business delivery to improve customer experience.
- Automation, Configuration Management using tools like AWS/Azure DevOps, Ansible, YAML and scripting using tools like PowerShell, AZ Cli, Python, Bash
- Expert level cloud infrastructure systems experience in designing and deploying, migration of large enterprise application estate utilizing almost all Azure stack - Azure Application Gateway, AKS, Azure Functions, Storage Accounts, EventHub, Azure Data Factory, Azure B2C, AD, Azure DevOps, including server, storage, network and applications - Azure, including hybrid, Software as Service (SaaS), Platform as Service (PaaS), Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS);
- Good experience on cloud network environments implementation & setup including connectivity, network, firewalls by following standard Azure enterprise landing zone, networking policies like zero trust networking etc.and must show good understanding on hybrid cloud setup and network security elements like - TLS, HTTPS, mTLS
