Job Summary: We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Software Development Engineer to design and develop robust RESTful APIs using AWS services. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in backend development, particularly within the banking or regulated industry, and will be responsible for building secure and resilient integration services. This role requires collaboration with various teams to ensure adherence to enterprise security standards and compliance requirements.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop RESTful APIs using API Gateway and AWS Lambda.
- Build secure and resilient integration services with internal and external systems.
- Implement asynchronous processing using SQS and DLQ patterns.
- Ensure idempotent, fault-tolerant, and scalable API design.
- Collaborate with architecture, security, and data teams to align on best practices.
- Implement logging, monitoring, and alerting using CloudWatch.
- Adhere to enterprise security and data protection standards.
- Ensure secure handling of sensitive and regulated data.
- Support audit and compliance requirements.
Mandatory Skills
- 8+ years of backend/API development experience.
- Strong experience with AWS services (Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, DynamoDB).
- Proficiency in Python, Java, or Node.js.
- Experience with REST API design and event-driven architecture within large banking organizations.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements within large banking environments.
- Experience in banking or regulated industry.
- Knowledge of Step Functions and Redshift.
- Familiarity with CI/CD and infrastructure as code.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in the banking/wealth domain is a plus.
Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
