AWS Glue Application Developer (AWS Data Engineer)

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced AWS Glue Application Developer with strong expertise in AWS Data Engineering technologies to design, develop, and optimize enterprise-scale data platforms and ETL pipelines.
The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with AWS Glue, PySpark, Python, SQL, AWS DMS, DataOps, and cloud-native AWS data services. You will be responsible for building scalable data integration solutions, designing modern data lake architectures, and supporting enterprise analytics workloads.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT pipelines using AWS Glue, PySpark, and Python.
• Build and optimize enterprise data ingestion, transformation, and integration frameworks.
• Design and implement AWS Data Lake and Cloud Data Warehouse solutions.
• Develop and manage cloud-native data platforms using AWS services such as:
o AWS Glue
o AWS DMS
o Amazon S3
o AWS Lambda
o Amazon Redshift
o Amazon Athena
o Amazon EMR
o Amazon RDS
o Amazon Kinesis
• Design and optimize data models and data architecture for enterprise analytics.
• Develop batch and streaming data pipelines for processing large datasets.
• Orchestrate workflows using Apache Airflow and AWS Step Functions.
• Monitor ETL jobs and production environments using Amazon CloudWatch.
• Optimize SQL queries, PySpark jobs, and ETL workflows for performance and scalability.
• Troubleshoot production issues, implement enhancements, and provide production support.
• Collaborate with architects, analysts, and cross-functional teams to deliver business-critical data solutions.
• Follow DataOps best practices and contribute to CI/CD-enabled data engineering workflows.
Required Skills
Must Have
• 8–10 years of experience in Data Engineering / Big Data ETL
• Strong expertise in:
o Python
o SQL
o PySpark
o AWS Glue
o AWS DMS
o Data Integration
o DataOps
• Hands-on experience with:
o Amazon S3
o AWS Lambda
o Amazon Athena
o Amazon Redshift
o Amazon RDS
o Amazon EMR
o Amazon Kinesis
o Amazon EC2
• Experience designing:
o ETL / ELT Pipelines
o Data Lakes
o Cloud Data Warehouses
o Data Modeling
o Data Architecture
• Workflow orchestration using:
o Apache Airflow
o AWS Step Functions
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning skills.
• Experience with AWS CLI, SDK, and APIs.
Good to Have
• Experience with streaming data pipelines.
• API integration experience.
• CI/CD implementation for Data Engineering.
• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
• Cloud migration projects.
• Data governance and security frameworks.
Preferred Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Engineering, or a related discipline.
• AWS Certifications will be an added advantage.
