Role Overview
- Design and implement DevOps solutions that drive automation, performance optimisation and reliability across the software development lifecycle
- Secure buy-in to DevOps methodologies from Product Owners, Platform Leads and senior business stakeholders
- Build strong internal and external relationships to ensure decisions are commercially focused and deliver long-term value
- Collaborate in shaping and delivering the DevOps strategy and roadmap aligned to business objectives
Key Responsibilities
- Design and oversee system and application architectures with a strong focus on scalability, resilience and reliability
- Drive automation across advanced workflows by creating reusable modules, templates and patterns
- Analyse system performance and optimise infrastructure to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs
- Evaluate, introduce and integrate new technologies to enhance the DevOps ecosystem and engineering practices
- Ensure DevOps practices comply with regulatory, security and industry standards
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders to understand requirements and provide clear technical guidance
- Lead continuous deployment of business-critical systems into production environments
Required Experience & Capabilities
- At least eight years of experience in DevOps engineering
- Strong experience with DevOps tools, source code management, deployment and configuration tooling
- Hands-on experience with AWS services including EC2, S3, Lambda and CloudWatch
- Proven expertise using Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and automation
- Experience building and managing scalable platforms using EKS, Kubernetes, Istio, API Gateway and serverless architectures
- Strong experience designing and operating CI/CD pipelines following DevOps best practices
- Proficiency in Python for scripting, automation and workflow optimisation
- Experience deploying mission-critical systems into production on a continuous basis
- Knowledge of portfolio management theories, models and practices within Agile or DevOps environments
