About The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced AWS Data Engineer to join a client-facing delivery team responsible for designing, building, and operating cloud-native data platforms. You will implement production ETL/ELT pipelines, data modeling, and performance tuning to deliver reliable analytics and BI-ready datasets for business and data-science consumers.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable ETL/ELT data pipelines on AWS using Glue, Spark, and Airflow to ingest, transform, and curate data for analytics.
  • Implement and optimize data storage and query layers (S3, Redshift), including partitioning, distribution styles, and vacuum/compaction strategies to reduce cost and latency.
  • Develop PySpark/Python jobs and SQL-based transformations, implementing testing, error-handling, and schema evolution best practices.
  • Implement orchestration and scheduling using Apache Airflow, create observability (metrics/logging) and alerting for pipeline health and SLA adherence.
  • Collaborate with data scientists and BI teams to produce consumption-ready datasets, define data contracts, and enable reproducible feature pipelines.
  • Drive infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD for data services, and troubleshoot production incidents to ensure high availability and data quality.

Additional Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience building data pipelines and data warehouses on AWS (enterprise/production environments preferred).
  • Strong understanding of data modeling, partitioning strategies, performance tuning, and data quality practices.
  • Ability to work on-site in India and collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
