Role Description
The AWS Data Engineer Lead is a full-time, on-site position based in Chennai & Bangalore. In this role, the individual will design, build, and maintain data pipelines on AWS, ensuring reliable data ingestion, transformation, and delivery across multiple systems. The AWS Data Engineer Lead will develop and optimize data models, support data warehousing solutions, and collaborate with analytics and business teams to enable data-driven decision-making. Daily responsibilities include managing ETL workflows, monitoring data quality and performance, implementing best practices for data security and governance, and guiding junior team members. The role also involves working closely with stakeholders to understand requirements, propose technical solutions, and continuously improve the data infrastructure.
Profile Requirements
- Strong data engineering skills, including experience designing and implementing scalable data pipelines on AWS.
- Proficiency in data modeling and data warehousing concepts to support reporting and analytics needs.
- Hands-on experience with extract, transform, load (ETL) processes and tools for structured and semi-structured data.
- Ability to leverage data analytics techniques to support business insights and performance measurement.
- Experience with core AWS data services (e.g., AWS Glue, Redshift, S3, Lambda, EMR) and related tooling.
- Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language commonly used for data engineering (such as Python or Scala).
- Understanding of data governance, security, and best practices for managing sensitive information.
- Demonstrated leadership experience in mentoring data engineers and coordinating technical project delivery.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree is an advantage.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams on-site in Chennai & Bangalore.
