Job Description

We are seeking a proactive AWS Data Engineer to join our dynamic team. You will be responsible for liaising with coworkers and clients to clarify requirements, conceptualizing and generating infrastructure for big data access and analysis, and optimizing existing frameworks. This role involves rigorous testing, preparing raw data for data scientists, and ensuring data integrity and accessibility while staying current with industry advancements.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with coworkers and clients to elucidate the requirements for each data engineering task.
  • Conceptualize and generate infrastructure that allows big data to be accessed and analyzed.
  • Reformulate existing frameworks to optimize their functioning and performance.
  • Test implemented structures rigorously to ensure that they are fit for use.
  • Prepare raw data for manipulation by data scientists, ensuring data quality and readiness.
  • Detect and correct errors in your work promptly and efficiently.
  • Ensure that your work remains backed up and readily accessible to relevant coworkers.
  • Remain up-to-date with industry standards and technological advancements that will improve the quality of your outputs.
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable and robust data pipelines on the AWS platform.
  • Implement data storage solutions using relevant AWS services.

Skills Required:

  • Proficiency in AWS Data Services (e.g., S3, Glue, Redshift, EMR, Kinesis, Lambda, Athena).
  • Strong understanding of big data concepts and architectures.
  • Experience in designing and building data infrastructure.
  • Ability to optimize existing data frameworks.
  • Strong testing and debugging skills for data pipelines and infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in data preparation and cleansing techniques.
  • Experience with data backup and accessibility best practices.
  • Eagerness to stay updated with industry standards and technological advancements in data engineering.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

QUALIFICATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
