Job Description
We are looking for a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and scale high-performance backend systems that power mission-critical applications. You will work closely with product managers, frontend engineers, architects, and DevOps teams to deliver reliable, secure, and scalable services.
This role requires strong technical depth, ownership mindset, and the ability to influence architecture and engineering best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance backend services
- Own backend architecture including APIs, databases, integrations, and microservices
- Translate product requirements into robust technical solutions
- Write clean, testable, and well-documented code
- Ensure system reliability, performance optimization, and fault tolerance
- Lead technical discussions, code reviews, and architectural decisions
- Mentor junior engineers and raise overall engineering standards
- Collaborate with DevOps on CI/CD, monitoring, logging, and deployments
- Ensure compliance with security, data privacy, and regulatory standards (where applicable)
Required Skills & Experience
- 6+ years of experience in backend development
- Strong proficiency in one or more backend languages:- Java / Kotlin / Go / Python / Node.js
- Strong experience with RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, etc.)
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design
- Experience with authentication, authorization, and security best practices
- Ability to troubleshoot production issues and improve system stability
