Responsibilities
- Lead the Direct and Indirect Taxation function for the organization.
- Ensure compliance with Income Tax, GST, TDS, FATCA/CRS, SFT, and other regulatory requirements.
- Manage tax assessments, scrutiny proceedings, notices, appeals, and litigation matters.
- Coordinate with statutory auditors, consultants, and tax authorities.
- Provide tax advisory support to business, finance, actuarial, product, distribution, and legal teams.
- Evaluate tax implications of new products, business initiatives, and regulatory changes.
- Track tax risks, contingent liabilities, and tax-related governance matters.
- Support audits, inspections, Board reviews, and Audit Committee requirements.
- Drive tax planning initiatives and optimize the organization's tax position.
- Lead and mentor the taxation team while strengthening internal controls and governance frameworks.
Requirements
- Chartered Accountant (Mandatory).
- 10+ years of post-qualification experience in Taxation.
- Minimum 5 years of experience within Financial Services, Insurance, Banking, or BFSI organizations.
- Strong expertise in Direct Taxation, GST, TDS, Tax Audits, Assessments, and Litigation.
- Experience handling regulatory interactions and tax advisory matters.
- Prior team management experience preferred.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
