JOB PROFILE
- The Assistant Vice President (AVP) Risk Analytics will play a critical role in driving quantitative and qualitative Benchmarking risk-weighted assets (RWA), and leverage exposure under evolving Basel regulatory frameworks for global investment banks across various business lines / asset classes. The individual will serve as a subject-matter expert (SME) in benchmarking RWA, and LE along with interpreting regulatory disclosures, identifying key trends, and providing actionable insights to senior stakeholders. The role demands deep knowledge of investment banking products, regulatory capital frameworks, and advanced analytical skills to ensure accurate and insightful benchmarking
- This is a high-visibility role requiring strong stakeholder engagement, thought leadership in risk management, and the ability to operate under stringent deadlines while balancing multiple projects. The AVP will also mentor junior analysts and associates, ensuring high quality, consistency, and innovation in deliverables
Key responsibilities involve:
- Maintain a strong understanding of investment banking products and their RWA / leverage exposure drivers (e.g., derivatives, trading book positions, counterparty credit risk, CVA, repo/reverse repo, securities financing)
- Strong understanding and continuous monitoring of Basel III/IV (Basel Endgame, FRTB, CVA, SA-CCR, leverage ratio) and ability to translate regulations into business and risk implications
- Conduct in-depth analysis of public regulatory filings (e.g., Pillar 3 reports, FR Y-9C, FFIEC 102, EBA templates) to identify trends, peer comparisons, and risk drivers
- Build and finalize benchmarking models for RWAs and leverage exposure; ensure accuracy, transparency, and explainability of outputs along with data validation and reconcile discrepancies
- Identify and leverage new reports, datasets, and research sources to enhance benchmarking depth and accuracy
- Translate quantitative findings into actionable insights on capital efficiency and other key metrics for senior management and stakeholders
- Manage/prioritize multiple projects under tight deadlines, ensuring delivery of accurate, high-quality outputs
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to align benchmarking insights with business objectives
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts and associates, ensuring best practices and sharing knowledge
