We are seeking a proactive and technically skilled Operations professional to join our Brokerage Operations team.

The AVP, Brokerage Operations is responsible for managing daily share and cash reconciliations and regulatory reporting obligations across equities, margin financing, swaps, derivatives, fixed income and mutual funds. The role ensures the integrity of books and records, timely identification and resolution of reconciliation breaks, and compliance with regulatory and internal control requirements. The incumbent will work closely with Trade Support, Settlements, Finance, Custody, and external Custodians, Clearing agents and Prime brokers to support robust post-trade operations.

Beyond day-to-day operations, the successful candidate will play a key role in driving process automation and digital transformation initiatives. Candidates with strong Excel VBA and Python programming skills who are passionate about improving workflows and eliminating manual processes are highly encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and oversee daily share, position, and cash reconciliations between internal core backoffice systems and external custodians, Prime brokers, exchanges, and counterparties.
  • Investigate, analyse, and resolve reconciliation breaks relating to:
  • Equities, Fixed Income, mutual funds and margin financing positions
  • Contracts for Difference (CFDs), swaps
  • Exchange-traded and OTC derivatives
  • Corporate actions and entitlement positions
  • Ensure timely escalation and resolution of aged or material reconciliation exceptions.
  • Monitor margin positions, collateral movements, financing balances, and stock borrow/lend activities where applicable.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and external counterparties to resolve discrepancies and maintain accurate books and records.
  • Support daily, monthly and year-end reconciliation and audit requirements.
  • Manage and oversee regulatory reporting and disclosure obligations across multiple markets, in accordance with applicable regulations, including European regulatory reporting frameworks
  • Review and enhance reconciliation controls, procedures, and operational workflows to improve efficiency and mitigate operational risks.
  • Identify opportunities for automation, process optimisation, and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, exchange rules, and internal policies relating to reconciliations and client asset safeguarding.
  • Participate in new business initiatives, system implementations, product launches, and regulatory/operational change projects.
  • Support the Head of Operations in strategic transformation initiatives, business analysis, reporting, and process improvement projects.
  • Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior team members.

Qualification requirement:

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Banking or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5-8 years of relevant experience in brokerage or securities operations experience, with strong expertise in reconciliations.

Sound knowledge of:

  • Equities and margin trading operations
  • CFDs and swaps
  • Exchange-traded and OTC derivatives
  • Custody, clearing, and settlement processes

  • Strong understanding of cash and position reconciliation methodologies.
  • Experience investigating complex reconciliation breaks and managing operational risk.
  • Familiarity with SGX and Global market operations, clearing, and settlement processes is advantageous.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VBA development.
  • Proficiency in Python for automation, data analysis, reporting, or workflow optimization is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and meet critical market and reporting deadlines.
