About the Role The Avionics Hardware Engineer will own the design and development of digital and mixed-signal circuits for flight-critical avionics systems from initial concept and simulation through schematic capture, PCB layout, and hardware bring-up. This is a hands-on role: you will be the person who designs the boards, validates the signals, and ensures every piece of avionics hardware is flight-ready. You will work closely with embedded software, GNC, and mechanical teams to deliver integrated, reliable avionics at pace.

Required Qualifications: 1–4 years of experience in a relevant role

Core Responsibilities

1) Circuit Design & Simulation Design and develop digital and mixed-signal circuits for avionics applications. Select components with consideration for performance, availability, and environmental suitability. Perform pre-schematic circuit simulation using MATLAB and SPICE tools to validate designs before capture. Run post-schematic simulations to verify design behaviour prior to layout.

2) Schematic Capture & Documentation Execute schematic capture in industry-standard EDA environments, maintaining clean and well-documented schematics. Maintain complete design documentation including schematics, BOMs, and layout notes. Participate in design reviews and ensure traceability from requirements through to verified hardware.

3) PCB Layout & Signal Integrity Contribute to PCB layout including signal routing, layer stack-up awareness, and design-for-manufacturability practices. Run post-layout analysis including signal integrity (SI), power integrity (PI), and power delivery network (PDN) analysis using industry-standard toolchains HyperLynx, Sigrity, or Mathworks equivalents.

4) Hardware Bring-Up & Testing Support hardware bring-up and functional testing of avionics boards. Identify, debug, and resolve hardware anomalies through structured root-cause analysis. Interface with embedded software and GNC teams to ensure hardware behaviour meets system-level requirements.

Required Abilities Hands-on experience designing digital and mixed-signal circuits for avionics or equivalent high reliability applications. Proficiency in pre- and post-schematic simulation using MATLAB and SPICE tools. Experience with industry standard EDA environments for schematic capture and PCB layout. Working knowledge of signal integrity, power integrity, and PDN analysis using toolchains such as HyperLynx, Sigrity, or Mathworks. Strong documentation discipline schematics, BOMs, and layout notes maintained to a standard suitable for design reviews and production release.

Nice to have: exposure to Ansys SiWave for PDN/SI simulation or HFSS for 3D electromagnetic field analysis; familiarity with Altair SimLab for multi-physics workflows including thermal or structural simulation of electronics packaging; ability to work closely with mechanical teams for tight electromechanical integration.
