Job Description – AV Design & Solution Engineer

Experience: 3–6 Years Role: AV Design / Presales / Solution Engineer

Location: Chennai

Role Summary

This role blends technical creativity with commercial thinking – from understanding a customer's vision and designing the right solution to preparing accurate BOM, compelling technical proposals, and supporting successful implementation.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with customers to understand their needs, use cases, environments, and budgets, then translate them into practical AV solutions.
• Design inspiring collaboration environments including meeting rooms, boardrooms, conference rooms, training rooms, VC rooms, auditoriums, and other modern collaboration spaces.
• Develop clear AV architecture, block diagrams, signal-flow diagrams, rack layouts, and equipment layouts that bring the solution to life.
• Prepare accurate BOM, technical specifications, compliance matrices, and solution proposals.
• Conduct site surveys and capture the technical details required to build a complete, deployment-ready design.
• Collaborate with OEMs and distributors on product selection, technical validation, compatibility, and pricing
• Support customer presentations, technical discussions, and solution demonstrations with confidence and clarity.
• Work closely with implementation teams through deployment, testing, commissioning, and final handover.
• Evaluate and recommend the most suitable AV technologies based on performance, scalability, project requirements, and budget.
• Stay curious and current with evolving AV technologies, standards, collaboration platforms, and OEM portfolios.

• MS Word – Technical documentation and proposals Preferred OEM Knowledge Hands-on familiarity with Cisco, Logitech, Poly, Crestron, Extron, QSC, Biamp, Shure, Sennheiser, Barco, Samsung, LG, Sony, Yealink, Bose, or JBL will be an advantage.
  
  

Candidate Profile

• 3–6 years of relevant AV experience.
• Strong solution design and presales experience preferred.
• Excellent technical communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to independently develop AV solutions and produce high-quality technical documentation.
• A solution-first mindset with the curiosity to explore technology, challenge assumptions, and create better customer experiences.
• Willingness to travel for customer meetings and site surveys.
